My name is Brittany Bell, and I am a recent graduate from Grove City College in western PA with Bachelor’s in Music Education (K-12) with a concentration in voice. I have the wonderful opportunity to start my career at an elementary school in Glendale, Arizona. I look forward to this amazing change and the chance to have a classroom of my own to share my passion for music with the students there.
While at Grove City, I was a part of the Wolverine marching band drumline, played trombone for symphonic band and orchestra, alto saxophone for symphonic concert band and marching band, double bass for the stage band, jazz ensemble, and orchestra, electric bass for jazz combo, as well as concert choir, GCC Singers, and opera workshop. I helped to establish GCC Singers as a new choir group on campus featuring a wide variety of genres with the help of Mrs. Stacy Paparone and Dr. Edwin Arnold. I had been given the opportunity to be the president and past-president of the Grove City College Chapter of PCMEA. I was the student director of GCC Singers as well as being involved in a drama ministry team, Signature (a women’s fine arts service group), and a variety of technical theater crews on campus.
I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with my high school’s marching band for the past two summers teaching instrument lessons and assisting with band camp. I have also been able to lead worship at my local church and teach voice/instrument lessons to any church members for the summer as well.
This has been an exciting process to learn more about something I love so much: music. I am thrilled to be a part of this community of educators on Twitter, Facebook, etc. to learn as much as I can from fellow music educators as well as undergraduate students.
